The Meaning And Motive For SeeTheUniverse

Over the last 12 months, many people have asked me how I came up with the name for my blog. Does it have a specific meaning? Did it randomly pop into your head? Did it take long to come up with? All of the questions and many more! The answers are: Yes, SeeTheUniverse does have a specific meaning, no it did not randomly pop into my head and no, it did not take long to come up with… Allow me to elaborate!

Over the years I have learned the importance of looking further than what is right in front of you, kind of like ‘looking at the bigger picture’ if you like.
Sometimes life can be hectic, it can really drag you down… but if you try to look past the situation you are currently faced with, if you sit down and just stop for a second, you will realise that things will not remain this way forever.

Those of you who know me will know how much I love the stars and how thinking about space, galaxies and the universe as a whole, really interests me! I wanted to try and interpret this into my blog, without writing about it directly. When I take a moment and look up at the night sky, I feel so calm and content and the rest of the world fades away for a little while.

We all need more moments like that.

So, SeeTheUniverse was born… meaning, take a moment to look past the stars and instead, see the entire universe! This may not make a lot of sense to you right now, but I hope that the more you think about it, the more clear it becomes.

Another huge part of SeeTheUniverse is the tagline that comes with it! I wanted my blog to have more than just a name, I wanted it to have its own phrase/quote/slogan/tagline (whatever you wish to call it) and so I came up with ‘Have Hope Always’.

This is simple yet beautiful and also a very important thing to remember. Having hope makes the dark days seem that little bit lighter, trying to find some form of calm amongst a storm. I believe that once you lose hope, everything falls apart. If you can hold onto a tiny glimmer of hope, if you can find your light in the dark, it will give you a reason to carry on, even in your darkest of times.

So, if you take anything away from this blog today… remember to Have Hope Always.

Mental health is a topic that is very close to my heart, billions of people suffer from mental health problems each and every day (myself included!). I hate seeing such a huge stigma surrounding mental health and many of my friends have suffered in silence… I wanted to do my part, I wanted to help others who are suffering as well as helping to increase peoples knowledge about mental health conditions and breaking down the stigma.

  1. I remember my first sticker that came to my door that said “Have Hope Always” while I was recovering from GB Syndrome. Those words are enough for anyone to motivate him and encourage him to fight the circumstances. You have got a great tag line and a great blog. And as Andy said in Shawshank, “Hope is a good thing, and good thing never dies”.
