This months book is: Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman
This is a young adult book which won Book of the Year in 2017 as well as being put forward to become a movie by the one and only Reese Witherspoon. Author Jojo Moyes said that it was ‘funny, touching and unpredictable.’ With the Mail on Sunday saying that is was an ‘outstanding debut about loneliness and the power of a little kindness.’
I have been looking forward to reading this book for quite some time and I am excited to finally have it in my hands. This book is said to be an emotional rollercoaster, showing both the best and the worst that humans are capable of. I have high hopes for this book, so I hope that you will join me in reading it this month!
I have been warned about various topics that this book discusses and would like to issue a trigger warning for the following:
– Emotional and physical abuse, sexual assault, self-harm and alcoholism –
The discussion for this book will be held on the 21st of February at 8:30pm over on my facebook group Universe Online!
Please head over and join the group in advance, make yourself at home, take part in our competitions and day-to-day chats.
