My Updated Reading List

As many of you are aware, I love to read… but I often cannot find the time to pick up a book and when I do it can take me a long time to get through it. However, I am determined to read at least two books between now and the new year. I am also planning to re-start our book club in January, with a few tweaks and changes!

First of all, I would like to talk about the two books that I am planning to read between now and the new year.
The first book is called ‘Faceless’ by Alyssa Sheinmal. This book follows the life of a young lady who is tragically struck by lightning, resulting in her face being severely damaged to the point where she needs a transplant. This leaves her wondering how she is supposed to continue her life when she can no longer recognise herself. A very personal and emotional read.

The second book I plan to read is called ‘The Start of Me and You’ by Emery Lord. This book is about planning happiness… can it really be planned out? A year after Paige’s first boyfriend lost his life in a tragic swimming accident, she decides to take a second chance at happiness by creating a plan… 1. Date a boy 2. Attend parties 3. Join a club 4. Travel and 5. Swim…

I hope to read both of these books over the next 2 and a half months and review them on here! So keep your eyes peeled (and your fingers crossed)

Now for the news of our updated Book Club for 2020!

Me and my best friend Molly joined together to run an online book club via SeeTheUniverse this year… however we both became so busy and entangled in our personal lives that we began to fall behind… and not many people were taking part. This resulted in the Book Club slowly coming to an end. However, I would very much like to revive this idea! So me and Molly had a good, long discussion about what we think we could do differently in order to make more people interested in the Book Club as well as making it easier for us to keep on top of things… and this is what we came up with:

Instead of having one book per month for the year, we have decided to narrow this down significantly; by having just four books, spread out across the year. This gives people 3 months to read each book! This also enables us to host multiple book discussions for each book, sharing our thoughts and opinions as we make our way through the pages.
We have not yet decided on what the four books will be, though this is at the top of our planning list and should be announced early next month (November). We are also yet to decide how we will host our book discussions as it is difficult to see which method would work best… if anyone would like to share their ideas for this we are more than happy to hear them!

We are also going to try and advertise this more, get the information out there and hopefully catch the attention of all book lovers and encourage more people to take part.

Keep your eyes on my social media pages and of course the blog for further details in the upcoming months.
