Happy New Year!

New year, new me?

No. New year, same me! I may make some improvements and adjustments to my life this year… but that doesn’t mean I’m not the same person that I was last year. I like who I am, it has served me well so far; so why change?

Today is the first of twelve new chapters. I’m excited to see what 2022 has to offer and I can only hope that it will be better than the last! I have quite a few things to look forward to this year as well as one or two personal goals that I am determined to achieve.

What am I looking forward to?

I am excited for my birthday in March. Me and Jake are booking a hotel in Liverpool for a few nights and some of our friends are joining us for drink and hopefully Bongos Bingo!

We also have multiple concerts booked! We have, Sam Fender, Kid Laroi, Mayday Parade, Olly Murs and Jimmy Carr all lined up!

We finally rearranged our holiday to Croatia! I can’t wait to spend 10 days away in the sunshine with my better half.

I also can’t wait for more little things… like eating out at nice new restaurants, days out with friends, get togethers and game nights and so much more!

What are my goals for 2022?

My main goal is getting myself back into a fitness routine and tracking my diet again. As I definitely let that slip throughout December! My parents bought me a great gift to help keep me motivated throughout 2022…. A year long Conqueror Challenge!

I’ve don’t two Conqueror Challenges before; they are virtual challenges in which you track miles by doing various activities. For example my first challenge was The English Channel Challenge. This one was set at 21 miles (as that would be the distance of The Channel if you were to swim it in real life!) I tracked miles by going on hikes and working out at the gym and adding them to my challenge app. Once I reached 21 miles I received a beautiful medal through the post!

The difference with the year long challenge is that you set the amount of miles for yourself and this is meant to be reached by the end of 2022. You can make up the miles however you like, but I like to only track additional activities rather than daily steps! I have set myself 300 miles for the year, but I can increase this if I feel as though I can do more!

I am so excited to start this challenge that being in isolation will not stop me! I will be on the Ring Fit today to get some miles in!

My other goal is to improve my mental health. More self care will be scheduled into my weekly planer and I will also try acknowledging when I am having a bad day and talking about it with those around me, rather than shutting down or wallowing.

What are you going to make of 2022?

It is important to remember that 2022 is going to be exactly what you make it! Look after yourself, be kind to others, smile as much as you can, laugh as much as you can; but remember that it is also okay not to be okay all of the time.
Life has its ups and downs, this is inevitable. It is how you deal with them that truly matters. Please remember that the downs do not have to be faced alone! There are people out there willing to help, willing to listen and willing to share their own experiences. You are not alone. Reach out if you need too.

We wish you the very best going into the New Year.

Have Hope Always!
