Halloween Book Recommendations

We love a good spook season read, so we thought it would be nice to share some of our recommendations as well as some books that we have on our TBR this year!

Aimee: I read The Ex Hex by Erin Sterling last year as one of my Halloween reads and I absolutely loved it. This book is perfect for those who want a spooky read that is cosy and cute without scaring you half to death. This book made me laugh so much and I enjoyed it cover to cover. I know that Beth read this book this year and enjoyed it just as much as I did – so much so, that she went and read the second book in the series, The Kiss Curse.
Beth said this book had all of the same vibes as the first, a nice easy Halloween read! I look forward to reading this one myself this year.

Another book that Beth (and also Bella) has read this year is, Something Wicked by Gretchen Rue. This is a cosy witchy read, with a murder mystery twist! Another great option for those who enjoy a lighter Halloween read.

Some books that we are hoping to read are:

The Accidental Magic Series – On Kindle Unlimited – by Iris Beaglehole. This is a large series consisting of eight books, that is currently free on Kindle Unlimited. The covers alone for these books are super pretty and I for one cannot wait to start them.

Murder in the Family by Cara Hunter is a book that me and Bella are hoping to read at the same time. This book is a murder mystery, but it is written in a very unique style. The book gives you the case evidence and interviews of the suspects, as if you are the detective working the case helping you to piece together the mystery as you read along. I am very excited to share thoughts and theories as we read this one.

Bella is also hoping to continue her Stephen King reads this year with Doctor Sleep as well as delving into a little bit of Agatha Christie with Halloween Party (of which the new movie Haunting in Venice is based off of!)

Meanwhile, I have made a slow start on Layla by Colleen Hoover and I hope to read Pet Semetary by Stephen King this year too!

We would love to hear what Halloween books you are reading this year, or any recommendations of previous spooky reads you have enjoyed! Let us know in the comments below!
