St Nicks Day (Poem)

St Nicks Day (Poem)

Today is St Nicks Day, so I thought I would write a short poem as part of my Blogmas posts! I hope you enjoy it.

Colder days approaching
Jack Frost is creeping near
Christmas lights are glistening
Soon St Nick will be here

With pink rosy cheeks
And a beard full of snow
St Nick spreads joy and cheer
With a friendly ‘Ho Ho Ho’

With nine flying reindeer
And a red shining sleigh
The elves have packed the presents
St Nick is on his way!

Please do not forget to like this post if you enjoyed it and feel free to leave links to your Blogmas posts in the comments below as I would love to read them!

The World Seems Different (Poem)

The World Seems Different (Poem)

I recently wrote a poem which has a nice Autumn feel to it, so I thought it would be perfect to share it with you all as part of my Blogtober posts.

The World Seems Different

Autumn days among us,
Watching the leaves float down,
Everything is changing,
The world seems different now.

Shades of brown and orange,
Conkers on the ground,
Silent evenings come creeping
The world seems different now.

Sipping on hot chocolate,
Feeling almost calm,
Listening to the fire crackling,
The world seems different now.

Four times a year,
The world around us changes,
From Autumn to Winter, Winter to Spring, Spring to Summer,
We go full circle, and the world passes us by

We need to take a moment,
For each and every season,
A moment to stop, breathe and take in the changes,
Embrace how incredible life is…
For the world seems different now.

National Poetry Day

National Poetry Day

This is a poem that I wrote many years ago when I was just 16… although I looked very different back then in comparison to how I look today, I am still very unhappy with what I see when I look in the mirror. I wish my body was in between how it was then and what it is now! That would be ideal for me… but it is going to take a lot of time and effort to make that happen, it also takes a lot of motivation which I often lack as a result of my mental health…

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this poem, I would not usually share my own poems publically…

Is my vision distorted?
Is what I see real?
That heartbreaking reflection,
the one in the mirror.

They think it is for attention,
that it is just a cry for help.
But they couldn’t be more wrong,
I genuinely hate myself.

I hate what I see,
It kills me inside,
Looking at my body,
The one I wish I could hide.

How do they not see the same?
They treat me like I’m crazy.
I can’t do this anymore,
I need them to believe me.

My vision is not distorted,
I know just what I see.
That horrible reflection in the mirror,
the one I see, is me.
