Me and Bella set ourselves some reading challenges back in January to try and encourage us both to read more books. I used to love reading as a child, but I have never allowed myself the time to sit and read for fun as an adult! I really did not know what I was missing.
For my reading challenge I initially set myself the task of reading 10 books by the end of the year… I am currently on book number 18 and 19! I never thought I would be able to get back into reading, but I am so glad that I did. I have to say, it is a great form of self-care too! The two of us often go on book dates, where we will pack our books and notepads and head to a local coffee shop to sit, read and discuss our books. It is something that we both look forward to whenever the two of us are free.
The only downfall of our little cosy book club, it that it can be an expensive habit! We are both extremely guilty of buying books quicker than we read them. But hey! At least our book shelves look nice, full and colourful!
As much as I love a trip to Waterstones and The Works, you cannot beat a good Charity Shop book haul. I found some great books for amazing prices in some of our local charity shops, one of which was a hardback copy of Stephen King’s ‘The Institution’, which I cannot wait to start reading this fall.
So, as our bookish adventures keep on growing, we decided we wanted to share that part of our lives with all of you lovely people, so we created some new social media pages just for our books!
