Year in Books 2024

2024 was a little bit slow on the book front as it was so busy in every other aspect!

I managed to read thirteen books this year, which totalled 4,114 pages!
The most popular book on my shelf this year was: Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman, which was actually a re-read for me! I read this a few years ago and I really enjoyed it, however my book club picked it as one of their monthly reads so I re-read it with them.

The least popular book that I read this year was my last book of the year! It was A Christmas in Prague by Helga Jensen. I chose this book as we visited Prague at the beginning of December and I felt it would be a nice, cute read as I would be able to really picture the scenes! I really enjoyed this one, it was exactly what I needed to finish the year.

Although I only managed to read thirteen books, my average rating across them was 4.6 stars! So they must have all been pretty damn good. But my favourite book of 2024 was The Survivors by Caroline Mitchell.
This was the first of her books that I have read and I was introduced to it through Tandem Collective, who kindly sent me an early copy of the book to read and review! I loved it so much, that I have already ordered myself some more of Carolines books and I hope to be reviewing them here at some point in 2025! – You can see my full review of this book here!

My thirteen books were:

  • Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman
  • The Murder After The Night Before by Katy Brent
  • Meet Me When My Heart Stops by Becky Hunter
  • Alice in Wonderful by Lewis Carroll
  • Kill For Me Kill For You by Steve Cavanagh
  • Keep It In The Family by John Marrs
  • The Honeymoon by Kate Gray
  • What I Should Have Texted by Pierre A. Jeanty
  • What Lies Between Us by John Marrs
  • Seven Summers by Paige Toon
  • The Dead Romantics by Ashley Poston
  • The Survivors by Caroline Mitchell
  • A Christmas in Prague by Helga Jensen

I was a little bit sad that I only managed thirteen books at first… as I read 30 books last year! However… I achieved so much more this year!

  • I got married
  • Me and my husband bought a puppy
  • We bought our first home
  • We travelled to three different countries (Morocco, Malta and Czech Republic)
  • We found out that we are going to have a niece in 2025!

And so much more in between!

Here is to hoping that 2035 brings more joy, love and laughter.
